Tenesha is currently working with the Breast Cancer Team at LPM on breast cancer risk assessment in different ethnic populations. She is exploring what her research interests are within translational science and personalized medicine.
In the summer of 2010 Tenesha participated in a 10-week clinical and health research program with NYU/Bellevue Hospital Center Emergency Department. The program focused on research and patient advocacy initiatives that enhance and enrich medical students' interest in health-related research careers. Rotations included assisting doctors and nurses in Bellevue’s Emergency Departments, Operating Room and Recovery Room.
In spring of 2009, Tenesha worked with Dr. Tonellato, Rimma Pivovarov, and the LPM Group to begin using crowdsourcing to try and solve common biomedical information processing dilemmas.
Prior to returning to focus on academics, Tenesha worked at Amazon.com as a Sr. Manager on their Web Services team. She has been working as a marketing and business development professional for digital media and book publishing companies for most of the last decade.
Currently in the last year of a Postbaccalaureate Prehealth Program at Hunter College of The City University of New York.
